It’s much, much more than that.Goodison isn’t the fanbase. It’s four stands and a pitch.

It’s not uncommon for teams to struggle in a new stadium and I don’t suspect we’ll be any different. You make reasonable points but I'm not concerned about how the move will affect us on the pitch. Our home record has been rubbish the last few seasons so if it is going to be as bad or worse then nothing would have changed and I'm not expecting that.
There may be a settling in period but it's not a given that we can't get results initially.
I think the atmosphere will be brilliant, and the team will continue to have the most amazing support.

As mentioned - we have been heavily reliant on Goodison Park, probably my entire life if I am being honest. You make it sound as if it's something that should be factored in as a given. I don't see why that's the case.

Playing towards the Gwladys Street, the narrow tunnel, the fans on top of the pitch. All of the above plus loads more has won us points and done things a “normal” stadium hasn’t before.
A shiny new ground with zero character won’t benefit the team, in my opinion. I suspect many more will be saying the same come October/November.
Absolutely.fans make the noise mate not the ground
Are you a Wyness/Elstone multi?![]()
Really strange reaction to my comments, almost as if some have taken it personally.
I understand Everton needed a new ground. Commercially, the long term benefits should be good. It’s a beautiful ground in a great “location” (picturesque, on the waterfront).
However I have concerns about how the side will adapt to a new ground without the safety blanket of GP. I think the match day experience won’t be the same either. Our entire lives we have been going to Goodison Park. There’s a familiarity that made Goodison so special.
Now - we will all find our own matchday routines. Our new chippies, pubs, routes etc.
The reality is:
: Transportation looks disasterous and off the back of the test events, dangerous. No parking and poor public transport routes.
: The gridlock to exit will be hugely problematic due to the lack of space by the waterfront
: It’s going to be more expensive for the match going fans.
: It will be especially unpleasant in the winter.
: Can we recreate the Goodison Park atmosphere? Remains to be seen.
Absolutely.
It will be interesting to see if our incredible fans have the same enthusiasm in a ground without character, mid December in the howling wind, in sub zero temperatures.
I think it will.swapping grounds doesn’t change the enthusiasm
In all honesty being sentimental is understandable but we have not been great at home in the past few years.. Without checking if these that over the last 3\4 seasons we have more away points than home.As mentioned - we have been heavily reliant on Goodison Park, probably my entire life if I am being honest.

That’s just not true.If they did a transportation survey for how fans would get to Goodison back in the day no one would ever have built it at all. Both Anfield and Goodison are an absolute nightmare to get to by any transportation route. Lo and behold though fans have found a way over time, which they will with Bromley Moore as well. There is no efficient way of getting 50k people in and out of a stadium quickly, doesn’t exist in any stadium I’ve ever been to for any event. If you can park anywhere near it, you sit in traffic for ages getting away. If there’s a tube station or train station it’s absolutely crammed. Quite simply infrastructure isn’t often built to accommodate 50k volume that only occurs once a fortnight.
