So is he any good?​

Seen him a couple of times this season. Looks decent. Skilful on the ball and runs his socks off.

14 goals in 28 appearances this season. Whether he can do it in this league is of course the big question... but for 5 mil worth a punt these days.

Ex-Barca academy player with bags of skill and potential joining Everton for a meagre fee... I mean, what could go wrong?

For context and for those who don't remember or are new to supporting this fair club, we played an Austrian 3rd division side called ATV Irdning in pre-season 2018 and beat them 22-0 (TWENTY TWO GOALS TO NIL). Sandro, an attacker, played about 80 mins of this game and didn't score a single one of our 22 goals.
Omar Niasse, crown prince of Everton's banter era, played the last 20 mins or so and scored 4.

Ultimately as a backup striker for DCL and cover for when he's injured (like now) he fits the bill.

Premier league experience, still reasonably young and not massively expensive.

No issue with this signing personally.

I remember people complaining and panicking that he was “only” signed on a 4 year deal.

Well that £100+k pw deal which was a major issue with Everton’s “financial irregularities” felt like it lasted 20 didn’t it?
