Lancashire win by 80 runs. Some good bowling figures : Green 3-16, Wood 2-25. Qualification looking good now, especially with their run rate. Nice to see Yorkshire's position.

I really wish England sides would stop choosing to bowl first. Its not their strength in any format.

The test side needs runs on the board to help the bowlers. Choosing to bowl first on a hot day like that makes no sense at all.
Isn't it ? I'm not saying it was the right decision today, but :

England have made a habit of fielding first since Stokes became captain in 2022.

In nine previous home Tests in which England have won the toss in that period, they have batted first only once. From those nine matches, they have won six and probably would have had a seventh had it not been for rain in Manchester during the fourth Ashes Test of 2023.

Tonight was Lancashire's best ever T20 total.

Regardless of the mistake with the toss, this has been an extremely lacklustre bowling performance. No one has been able to find the right length for any period of time. I would bring in Potts for the next test.

Turning into a fantastic decision to bowl first...
We watched the highlights last night & skipped the intro - My son stated doh we were so unlucky to lose the toss - then we heard we chose to bowl - on a drought ridden out field - no over cast conditions with a crap line up of opening bowlers?
