Came back last week from Belgium. Been in Brussels for the Wales game. Afterwards had a week in Ostend.
Always fancied going back to Ostend, my last visit was on the return trip from that win in Rotterdam, on the special back to Lime St. We had no time to party in Rotterdam, as we had to get straight back on the train outside the ground, after the match.
Arrived in Ostend to be told our ferry was delayed and that we had around 3hrs to “enjoy” Ostend. I think it actually ended up being much longer. Safe to say the mother of all parties happened in Ostend that night.
The town’s changed loads since that trip. The ferry terminal we passed through is partially demolished and derelict and fenced off from the railway platforms. Recognised a few bars though and thankfully Belgian beer hasn’t changed. Great memories visiting those bars again and after a few jars, laughing at the young me, dancing on a table with a blue and white scarf tied to my wrist.

Porto is my favourite city break venue, plenty of things to see and do, however, although their are numerous cafe/bars they do not really have a drinking culture (not like the northern european countries). Definitely head towards the river, I marginally prefer the other side (Gaia) but the main thing is enjoy it.

Yes, last time in Portugal we split our time between Porto & Lisbon - enjoyed both. It was a festival in Lisbon, made the stay even better.
