Holidays 2025

Yeah I hate Stives. Far too peopley. Same with Padstein.

I like Hayle. There's lots of cool ancient sites around West Cornwall, too. Men an Tol, Chysauster, Lanyon Quoit etc. I love that sort of thing.

I love the Lizard Peninsula, too, the Helford River is one of my favourite bits of Cornwall.

It reminds me very much of the coastal part of mid Wales.

The local people still work for a living, rather than rely solely on tourism and the area is un spoilt and just as beautiful. ( the area around the River Camel in North Cornwall is just the same)

I really like the Cornish people, as on the whole they`re just so naturally friendly and in all the years we`ve been going, we`ve never had one single problem.

Where as I could fill a whole page with the bad experiences I`ve had in North Wales

Aberdaron on the tip of Llyn peninsula North Wales is like a small Cornwall - 4th cleanest beach in the UK ..... great for Mackerel fishing too....

The coastal cliffs to the right of the beach are one of my favourite places in the UK to run Joey.

When the weather is nice, it`s just so beautiful up here and more often than not, you don`t see another soul.

That part of the coast is very good for surfing too - Porth Neigwl beach ( Hells Mouth ) just around the coast towards Abersoch being the pick ( another favourite running spot of mine too )

Stayed near Hayle last year for a week, before travelling back to North Cornwall for the second week.

I really liked Hayle and the area around it, as it hasn`t been ruined by tourism like some parts of North Cornwall have.

I couldn`t wait to get out of St Ives though, reminded me very much of Padstow, overcrowded and full of fatties eating pasties ( although like Padstow, I imagine it`d be lovely out of season )
Many, many moons ago when we were courting we spent a week in Hayle in a place called Tolroy holiday camp remember it took us 9 hrs on the train getting home. To think you can fly half way around the world in that time.

I absolutely love the place. I've got family in Truro and one of my best friends lives on a boat in Penryn. I stay down there for work two or three times a year.

Also, the Cornish Pasty is the pinnacle of British cuisine.

No, they are on my to do list. I have been to Mull and Eigg. Eigg was an amazing experience
Yeah great places to see, Harris, Lewis and obviously Skye too.
Arran is the biggest of the three i mentioned and loads to see, Rothesay the main town on Bute and Millport on Cumbrae(the smallest of the three) all have their own unique charm, Millport is the easiest to access with a 15min crossing on the ferry from Largs on the Ayrshire coast, Bute and Arran ferries not far from there as well.
You should definitely try and give them all a visit if you get a chance.
