Holidays 2025

Just back from Alcudia, first time away with our little girl - our mates came with they’re little boy and the kids were like an old married couple.

Plotting next years one now
I love Alcudia 👌, we've been a few times when the kids were young, me & the Mr's have booked for 2026 at the sea club, now the kids are old enough to look after themselves & hopefully not burn the house down, in our absence 😁🤞

Crete end of April ( total washout ) but lovely place.
Cruise from Cyprus around the Greek Isles early next month .
Anglesey with the family August , do this every year....Love it.
Crete again in September/ Oct ( both our birthdays )
Caribbean Cruise later this year .
Plus a few weekends away at home York etc.

But this weather is superb in my own back garden atm , BBQ stoked up and a few cold beers doing the trick 😋

I’ve been to Naples and thought it was sound.

Other than seeing groups of young men drinking 8% tenants loitering the streets I didn’t notice anything untoward.

We stayed outside of the city as well in an air B&B right in the middle of a residential area and found no trouble.

Walked back from the centre back to the air B&B every night and never felt unsafe.

Seen a lot worse in paris and Barcelona tbh

In Bodrum just now, nice resort totally ruined by unbelievably annoying Turk bar and shop workers hassling you constantly, rip off bar and food prices, making it an expensive holiday even if you u are only a moderate drinker!!
Get the high rate of inflation here but they are totally killing the future of people returning here for holidays in the future with their desperation/determination to totally scam you!
AVOID!!
I was there last year, stayed in a hotel away from the tourist strips and ate where the locals ate. Everything was less than half the price we saw on the main drags. Absolutely loved it, and the day boat trips visiting the islands were so good we did it twice

Crikey, and I'm struggling to get one family holiday sorted 😂

West Cornwall for me.

Stayed near Hayle last year for a week, before travelling back to North Cornwall for the second week.

I really liked Hayle and the area around it, as it hasn`t been ruined by tourism like some parts of North Cornwall have.

I couldn`t wait to get out of St Ives though, reminded me very much of Padstow, overcrowded and full of fatties eating pasties ( although like Padstow, I imagine it`d be lovely out of season )

Yeah I hate Stives. Far too peopley. Same with Padstein.

I like Hayle. There's lots of cool ancient sites around West Cornwall, too. Men an Tol, Chysauster, Lanyon Quoit etc. I love that sort of thing.

I love the Lizard Peninsula, too, the Helford River is one of my favourite bits of Cornwall.
