2024/25 Idrissa Gueye

2 years as Ive said before is a big risk.
I hear you. What we know at present is he's still at the top of his game and there isn't going to be a sudden drop-off in quality or fitness. Whether that can be maintained for two years is the gamble, however should the club decide to make him available for transfer (or even for free to get him off the books) I am sure they would find takers at the end of 25-26 season.

?? How do we know there isn’t going to be a sudden drop off in quality or fitness?
That is exactly what happens to players at the end of their careers. It can happen at any time, just look at Kyle Walker.

There is nothing to say Gueye doesn’t have another two years in him, but there will be a big drop off at some point. What we don’t want is to be stuck yet again with a player after this happens.
This is why players over 30, and especially 35 only get one year extensions at every other club.
