I would have him before Dyche, Kouman and of course Benitez. But rather have Silva back before him of our previous managers, happy with Moyes for now but will look carefully at his signings.

It was more in relation to a certain persons obsession with him.

However, I agree with all of this. Silva definitely pips him in a 'want to come back' argument, due to the fact that Silva is currently a good club manager and the fact that his 'failures' at Everton were obviously not all down to him. Who knows if Martinez could easily walk into club management, after a very long time out of it.

Thought Silva was let down by the recruitment the season he was sacked, also the 5-2 hammering off the shoite didn't help, but should not have been a reason to sack him, we were too trigger happy at the time and paid dearly for it onwards. What was it five or six different managers players in the same team, it was an impossible task. Thelwell got rid of a lot of rubbish and also a lot of our good players due to ffp/ psr needs. We are probably in our best position for years due to that bit of psr leeway and basically a blank canvas to work from, which is why I'll be watching Moyes's signings closely. Though I do realise we will need free's and loan signings to help out. But I want to see youngish, fast classy signings in key positions, centre mid, right back right wing and centre forward. Asking a lot I know four definite starters, there are decent players already here, with three or four good signings i feel we can challenge for the lower European places.

In no small part through the grim determined grind through games by Dyche and his hamstrung squad and psr damaged club standing. The mess of the highs* we went through, had to be paid for by the immense lows we went through in return. You mention so many managers, collectively, I wonder what the compo package was for martinez, koeman, allardyce, silva, benitez and lampard. I wonder how that total stacks up vs the psr sum that saw us punished twice.

They wanted us punished worse than for going into administration. Every last drop of blood.

After his biggest fan found out where he his base was in Beligium, Martinez and his family are currently living in a safe house in Portugal somewhere high up in the Serra da Estrela Mountains,

Yeah it was a dual edged sword, stuck with a bloated, disjointed squad, each new manager was facing a difficult challenge with getting rid of them and then affording new players that fitted his system. Then all the compensation payments, ffp/ psr problems, we were so badly run. Financial Fair Play was just a big stick to hit the smaller clubs who dared to dream.
