We're winning that opener. All set up for Sky to be creaming themselves over Leeds back in the big time and we'll pummel them. Early goal and knock the stuffing out of them on our way to a 4-0 away win.

Yeah but midweek fixtures don't get moved to weekends by tv.

Disappointed that we are away for the first game, otherwise I am pretty happy with those fixtures overall as there are no blocks of fixtures in which we have lots of difficult games. Instead, we have a real mixed bag of fixtures.

September has 2 winnable home games (I know villa beat us twice but didn’t deserve to in either last season)

December has a lot of away games but our away form was good last season and only really Chelsea and Arsenal that are considered top teams.

Anything more than a point in 1st 5 games is an improvement on last 2 seasons

I remember seeing a statistic reported a few seasons back that we were unbeaten in our first two games of the season for around twenty-odd seasons on the bounce (I think) but since then we have lost that streak. Hopefully we can stay unbeaten in the first few games and as many as possible after that.

Here's the paradox for me: I want Moyes like I want a hole in the head, but I'll face the new season without fear because he's here.

If we start bad. The narrative will be we have to bed in players or they need to get use to style or whatever way its made up. At the end of the day its 11 v 11. and everyone knows how to kick a ball. We just have to obviously be better than the other 11
