I didn't even realise that Roma had a new CEO, as I thought Ryan Friedkin was in that role on an interim basis. Sacking the new CEO is quite abrupt and surprising.
Vitali was an interim CEO, but lately everyone was saying "he's staying". He was the man in charge of the stadium project. He got promoted. His ousting is less surprising.
But ghisolfi...he's said through the season he had rebuilt the scouting department from scratch, he chose Gasperini together with Ranieri. Nobody could think he was going.

Tomorrow is the day of Gasperini's first press conference. And it's likely ghisolfi won't be there. KGB style.

What is the reasoning for this.

I thought they'd be very happy after the huge turn around in thier season.
I'd like to know.

Firing a sporting director in June is crazy. Unless the move has been made months ago and ghisolfi has pretended to be Roma's dof ever since.

Great actor.

I don't know what they think, how they take their decisions. I just hope Ranieri is actually advising them to make such moves.

If you work for TFG you always have to watch your back though, it must be frustrating.

The timing makes no sense. But here, the Director of Football role has been abolished (I assume that was as a result of a TFG review) so if they think it doesn't work anymore, maybe they'll go to a "flatter" structure such as what Everton now have.

I did think as soon as that was implemented here it would have potential implications for Roma and Ghisolfi in particular.

Maybe it has something to do with the new manager coming in .
Still very strange tho.

Maybe the new manager doesn't want to work with him.

I concede that Walker is like a Moyes era one signing when he turned to his real masters at OT for any old tat.

However, Walker would undoubtedly be a boost ahead of any RB we have at the club. He's not fall off a cliff ass some here would have you believe.

12 months contract is fine.
