Kent Spitfires giving Somerset a bit to think about this afternoon.
I made a charity donation to face an over from Michael Holding some years back. He'd been retired for a fair while. Of the six deliveries I laid a bat on two and the shock that went up my arm made me wish I hadn't .Mind, you can't beat a bit of over-enthusiastic club Cricket on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
Tea and sandwiches, sunshine, the click of leather on willow, the cheers of the crowd for a single, the polite clapping when someone treads on his own stumps and the sight of some old fool called Bill or Desmond in his 60's risking serious injury taking first strike against some ex West Indian fast bowler in his early 40's playing for 10 quid and all the vol-au-vents he can eat.
It's what made England and the Empire great.
Cool story bro - Genuinely very, very cool.I made a charity donation to face an over from Michael Holding some years back. He'd been retired for a fair while. Of the six deliveries I laid a bat on two and the shock that went up my arm made me wish I hadn't .
This at Taunton ? Usually a road there.Kent finish 2 short of 230. Good total but Somerset will fancy the chase I reckon.

A cracking game, Somerset have been in rare form of late so that's a good win for Kent.Kent win by 4 runs, smashin game that.
I've played against guys who bowled 90mph. It's self preservation and nothing more. You take guard on middle and when you've played and missed your body has taken you to outside leg and you didn't even know. I wasn't the worst lower order bat but the increase in speed by only a few mph is like playing on a different planet.I made a charity donation to face an over from Michael Holding some years back. With the top pros it's the movement they get and the variation. The inswinger at pace is scary. We chatted with him later and he was very complimentary about Dennis Lillee and how he extended his career by working on his variety. Marshall must have been scary to face in his prime.I've played against guys who bowled 90mph. It's self preservation and nothing more.
