Transfer Rumour Jack Grealish

Think Moyes would actually be the type of manager he needs at this stage of his career,Moyes I feel would get him focused and “on track”,to be fair to Grealish I have seen a number of stories about him that have gone under the radar with team mates, fellow pros and fans/members of the public which indicate the fella is a decent human being, and not a total “balloon”!!!if the deal is right for us and Moyes is on board and the lad looks as though he thinks we are his preferred choice I don’t see a problem, others will potentially follow on the back of this as in modern terminology it sends out a “statement”.

Maybe this is one of them, he’s prob got a nice house in Cheshire. Seems settled there and thinks I will play every week, potentially get back in the World Cup squad and if I do well another club come in for me, or if Everton do well then I stay. I personally think it’s a really good move, I just worry for N’Diaye and McNeil because he would literally start every game.

I’m really a bit confused by the clamour for him,

I don’t doubt he is an excellent footballer. Certainly a better footballer than McNeil as evidenced by their careers etc.

However, we are saying we need goals. His output isn’t very high in that regard. In the 4 seasons since he left Villa, playing for a team that scores infinite goals with one of the best finishers in the league, he has got double figures goal contributions once.

Just to compare that, McNeil had a goal contribution every 114 minutes he played this season. And has hit double figures g/a for the last 3 seasons.

I’m not including European comps because he won’t get that luxury with us, and McNeil hasn’t had that.

The only reasons I think there may be something in this is that he’s got a new born, won’t have to move house and is good friends with Pickford.

Not really on board with this and cannot see it happening...

However, he can be a game changer providing he has the motivation to do so..... as others are saying with the World Cup in a years time then he will want to get back into the squad (although with no European football).

My other reservation is really what is his main position and where does he fit in? Seems to be left wing and / or attacking midfield? So basically Ndiaye or Alcaraz position?

Or would we see him and Ndiaye alternating wings.... think they both have the quality to play on either side.

This is my thought process, when you consider we paid Harrison £90k a week for 2 years, £100/£150 for a game changer like Grealish seems like a bargain.
And that's fine, but it isn't just his wages - City have another £33m or so in amortization on him plus wages of at least another £15 million for another two years of his contract - that's a minimum of £31m he's costing them this year. It's hard to see how they'd swallow £24m in costs on their balance sheet just for the privilege of us chipping in on his wages this year. Realistically you'd be looking at a really significant loan fee as well.

Yes, public perception of him seems well off. He has a special needs sister and the work he does in that area goes unnoticed.
