UEFA are perfectly correct. There will be no exceptionalism for us. Otherwise you'd have Juventus instead of Turin, and Real Madrid instead of Madrid. The City of Manchester Stadium will have Manchester emblazoned on the half-way line. We will be no different. There is no confusion. The Everton Stadium is in Liverpool. If there is confusion about among some people about our origin, that simply tells us we need to advertise where we are from more - not less. And certainly not hide it.

hey, while we are being contrarian, perhaps it may raise our profile on the continent as there will be many abroad who arent aware that there is another club in Liverpool, this could correct that. .

To us there'll be no confusion. To your average Hans/Enrico/Pierre/Tomasz/Juan/Erik who aren't really big football fans but will just watch their own national team's games they'll just see 'Liverpool' and think "ah, that's Liverpool's ground then."

The undiscerning - which will be the vast majority - WILL be confused.

Yeah, of course, the average viewer will miss the massive Everton badges around the ground and other Everton related images that will be displayed on the tv when the stadium is shown, and the royal blue all over the fecking place, and immediately see “Liverpool” on the hoardings and think it clearly must Liverpool FCs stadium……

Knock it down now, we can’t have any of that!

I was opposed to 'Liverpool' being used at UEFA events to be played at the stadium, but since that abomination naming rights deal I'll take it.

Not sure if im misundertanding the current debate but for me, it is good to have LIVERPOOL for the Euros.

Liverpool FC has no bearing on Everton and the fact remains that Everton were the first club in the City. We should be proud to show off that we are from Liverpool, and who cares who gets confused by it?

It's mad to cede the name of the city to our local rivals and quail at the thought of using it.

I dislike the RS with the best of them, but some of our fans need to give their head a serious wobble. This is a non-issue if I’ve ever seen one.
