New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

These guys seem quite impressed

I found that a more balanced, less gushing appraisal of the new stadium - which is no bad thing. Still largely approving but not getting carried away. However, I dont think he made enough of the location and the views until the very last couple of sentences, and this stadium build has always been at least equal parts build/location.

I was opposed to 'Liverpool' being used at UEFA events to be played at the stadium, but since that abomination naming rights deal I'll take it.

Surely there’ll be an option for a few pints after the game so the club can make a few more bob?

I dont think they have actually confirmed it, some clubs with more modern stadiums have a small period of time to serve drinks after the final whistle. The older stadiums that are right in the middle of houses cant get extended licences. If the beer was decent and not a crazy price I could see a lot of people staying for an hour and letting the traffic and crowds at the station calm down.

I suppose we'll be in the same boat as Villa in the Euro's with 'Birmingham' being used. In the past Benfica's stadium has been used for CL finals with 'Lisbon' plastered all over the host venue - more associated with city rivals Sporting (outside Portugal) than with Benfica.

'city of Liverpool' would be preferable for 2028 games, but I doubt UEFA will compromise. Mind you, better 'Liverpool' than that ridiculously embarrassing name our stadium has been given either way.
The official name of Benfica is Sport Lisboa e Benfica. Really, you'd have to have a massive insecurity complex to fret that the stadium's central adboard will be emblazoned with the name of your own city. UEFA, rightly, will insist that we call our city by its name. We are the first club in this city. Why we think we need to cede even the name is beyond me and smacks of complete capitulation. Kenwright wanted us to cede the entire thing by leaving. Euro 2028 will celebrate that not only did we stay, but we now have the best stadium in our city. Everton Stadium, Liverpool.

…pop this in here as well;

Good read that, thanks for posting.
Shame on UNESCO for wanting the City to remain in Victorian times.
