Crystal Palace and the Europa League

Not this again.
The only “evidence ” for Textor being behind Glasner’s appointment (or having any influence at all) is from Textor himself and it only appeared fromone or two Textor friendly journos after Glasner’s first run of games which were very successful.
Glasner leading Palace to the FA Cup win is a new one though🤣.
The issue with UEFA over our participation in the Europa League is due to Textor’s shareholding in Palace and whether (through the voting rights associated with that shareholding) he has a controlling interest - he does not. Nor are Palace a part of his Eagle Holdings group, in which he holds Lyon, Botafogo, etc.
UEFA have been slow to react over multi club ownership and now they face an issue cropping up regularly that they have previously just nodded through; (Man City & Girona for example).
Having said all that, Textor has upset a number of people in football officialdom including at UEFA. If they can find a way to mess him up, they might.
Palace, with no expectations of European football in March, missed the deadline to put any conflicting ownership shares into a blind trust and UEFA have refused their offer to do it now.
UEFA have to find a way to be seen to do something and find a resolution for future seasons. As no big clubs are in danger of expulsion their commercial interests are protected this season. Palace may yet, however unjustly, find themselves victim to Textor’s haphazard over weaning ambition and greed.

Radcliffe owns Nice and 25% of Man United which he practically runs. Both played in the Europa League last season. Didn't see issues there.

Sorry if this has been discussed to death in other corners of the forum … but how does Crystal Palace’s situation compare to a potential scenario where both Everton and Roma qualify to the same European cup competition?

"Manchester City and Manchester United both used blind trusts to ensure compliance with Uefa multi-club rules last season after their partner clubs, Girona and Nice, also qualified for the Champions League and Europa League respectively, while the Nottingham Forest owner, Evangelos Marinakis, also transferred his shares when Nuno Espírito Santo’s side and his Greek club Olympiakos looked on course to qualify for next season’s Champions League. However, Uefa rules state that such ownership changes must take place before 1 March to take effect in time for the following season,"

the answer is that a blind trust would be made if one has already not been done so by 1st March 2026

TBF the answer is that they'll bend over backwards for a nationally big club (City, United and Olympiakos) but Palace can be made to suffer for not ticking a box that doesn't apply to them anyway.

Thought Chelsea and Man Cities owners have been multi club owners for years, why has this only been brought up now ?

What has it got to do with Nottingham Forest ?

I've got two theories for that.

1 - The Forest owner had to jump through some hoops to avoid Forest not being allowed to compete in CL. It could just be pettiness based on that.

2- They're just absolute snides who think they will have more chance of winning it if Palace aren't in it.

Horrible club, horrible owner. Actually, that's a bit harsh, it's just the owner really. Threatening to sue us, kicking off massively over some ref decisions when they had some that basically airlifted them in to the PL, going on to the pitch to confront a manager who has done unbelievably well this season. What a tosser.

UEFA have finally got themselves together on multi club ownership by accepting a mechanism whereby a person with “significant control” in both clubs, may put their shareholding in one of the clubs into a blind trust. The formalities must be completed by the preceding March 1. So the regular Euro qualifiers have (presumably) complied. Palace, qualifying via the FA Cup, were playing Millwall in the 5th Round on March 1. UEFA have heard our case; we wait.
