Transfer Rumour Jack Grealish

the wage thing ... call me naive but i dont get it, is it a pride thing?

because these players are set for life anyway, and what more can you afford/not afford dropping from 300k a week to lets say 80?

and dont say 'would you take a pay cut?' - because doing a normal job at a normal wage is completely different. our lives can change drastically basedon our wages. a premier league footballer at 29's cant. they are set. he has been mega rich for over 10 years, and he always will be

finally. they are doing a hobby for work. and their work pays them multi millions a year, and they can all walk into a job in coaching, punditry, scouting or whatever they want in the game after this

it would be baffling if he decided to give up on a world cup to play in saudi because they could match his wages that wouldnt change his life one iota because he's already super rich
Pretty sure they are working at other peoples' hobby
The sacrifices they make are far beyond hobby levels

Also plenty of footballers have had careers because they were good at it but didn't enjoy it at all, just went to work

Anyway, City will pay most of wage if it's a loan, we won't be buying him

Part of it will be pride, part of it will be what they feel they are worth, part of it will be greed. I'm sure each individual will also have other personal reasons.
But when you consider that 80k a week on a 5 year contract is about 20 million, and 300k is 75 Million, even though both are mind boggling numbers, there is a huge difference between the two. Why would someone, no matter how rich they are, willingly forego over 50 million quid?
