Most Pleasing / Disappointing Results 2024 -2025

My most disappointed was probably the Utd collapse. Absolutely threw that one away, I'm still not sure how we didn't win it. Close 2nd for Bournemouth collapse, then the Ipswich one too (a bit of a theme there).

The win against Spurs was good. It was just a big lift, scoring 3 in the first half after all the drab Dycheball immediately got me behind Moyes.

Bournemouth away was fairly wretched, awful 90 minutes, imo worse than the home defeat. Their fans ridiculing our performance or lack of, I've long thought that let our new owners become more aware that we needed a new manager.

Best for me was Forest at the city ground, Just was great to totally baffle and nullify them in their champions league must win game. I still watch it on you tube, there's a young man who filmed his day in the terrace , it looked a marvellous day out.

wanted southampton beaten to a pulp for Goodison's sake.

That Tarkowski equaliser will echo for decades. Not only was it so appropriate for the Gwlady, the drama, the support, the feeling, the moment, the time left, it was so good.

My moment in a long time. (ooh err...)

Bournemouth at home was by far the worst result. Genuinely put me in a downer mood the rest of the day. Awful collapse.

Most pleasing for me was Palace at home, partly because it was the first home win and because I was there at my first and only trip to Goodison.

Personal bias aside, best game of the year for me was Leicester at home. Big 4-0 win that made me feel more confident for our safety than any game in the previous 3 seasons.

Worst: Southampton away. Really feared for us.
Best:

An early setback turned into a pretty enjoyable win. After this I felt the pressure was off and I could enjoy watching matches again!

The worst for me was the Brentford game at home. They went down to 10 men, hadn’t got any points away from home so far in the season and we still didn’t lay a glove on them, we had no ideas, no patterns of play, no attacking game plan. Just sit deep and take a point. It felt like we were sleep walking to relegation. The feeling in the ground was so flat.

Best for me was beating Leicester 4-0. They came all buoyed from beating Spurs, their fans and some in the media seemed to think they would come and turn us over, we opened the scoring after 10 seconds, we were 2-0 within 6 minutes, up by 3, before the halftime whistle blew and rounded it off with a 4th on the 90th minute. I feel it gave us a real boost.

I hated most of the games under Dyche but watched out of loyalty/habit/masochism
I loved most of the games under Moyes

To answer the question though
Worst: Bournemouth at Home
Best: RS at home

Most pleasing for me was beating Wolves 4-0 when we were deep in the mire and them just behind us.

Most disappointing was the opening day defeat home to Brighton.

As always, I approached the season with a bit of hope and optimism and was really up for that match.

But that game showed us another dire season of struggle was underway.
