I'm most way through it and it slightly gets better but what were they thinking.
The whole Thai hotel setup was completely unrealistic as well -- whereas the first two hotels were somewhat 'believable'.

So is the second. 4 episodes in. Great stuffThe second series of the gold started tonight on BBC chasing the missing gold so its poetic licence for where the gold went.
The first episode was excellent
Finished it last night - what a brilliant series - set up for another series I hope….we enjoyed it too. Bit of a Slow Horses concept with a team of outcast and maverick investigators put together, working from an office separate to their mainstream colleagues.
Yep really enjoyed that series, great last episode tooFinished it last night - what a brilliant series - set up for another series I hope![]()
Best thing on Netflix for an age Dept Q - the series episodes just flew by it was that greatI`ve just realised that I`ve read first book that this is based on by the same name - The Dept Q Series, they`re by a Danish author called Jussi Adler Olson, set in Denmark.
It`s a pretty faithful remake, just moved to Edinburgh.
Taking on your recommendation I'll add it to my 'watchlist'. Really like those Nordic noir style series/films and even if set in Edinburgh I'm sure they will give a good representation of the original.Department Q a 9 part series based on a book has just started on Netflix or other sources its a retake of the 2 hour one nordic noir 2 hour series from years ago set in more detail up in Edinburgh - very very good first episode .....
Want to watch it if only for Tom Hardy - a great character actor - but I've also heard that Brosnan and Mirren are pretty dire which is a real shame for two such well established - and in Dame Helen's case - renowned actors.Conrad and Maeve have to be 2 of the worst lead characters ever cast. Last few episodes were really poor.

Btw, a new Stranger Things series is out in November and whilst maybe a bit 'teenagery' for some the characters and storylines are pretty compelling.
Remember Rebus with Ken Stott? Loved that series and his portrayal of the characterIt`s the rarity, that they don`t use the sites and scenery of Edinburgh as a prop as much as a lot of these series that are set there do.
Try the reboot of it staring Richard RankinRemember Rebus with Ken Stott? Loved that series and his portrayal of the character

I’m sure I read somewhere that if you’ve bought any gold since the brinks mat robbery it is almost certain that there was gold from the robbery in your gold. The second series of the gold started tonight on BBC chasing the missing gold so its poetic licence for where the gold went.

Couldn't agree more. Nothing against John Hanna but he most certainly wasn't the Rebus from the books.Massive fan of the Ken Stott Rebus, as he is Rebus
Thought John Hannah was completely miscast tbh.
