Being done up and so closed for a month. Great timing to be ready for the season. The Excelsior on the corner of Johnson St. is a good starting point on matchdays![]()
I don't think that will work either, I know United fans at Anfield and RS at OT are kept in after game. United fans are escorted to coaches or to Lime Street. The issue is that historically RS drank around Anfield and only had to walk 10 minutes to GP. We drank around ours. Police knew route RS would walk, now you're going to have Blues and Reds drinking in town before hand, and main entrance to away end is going to be by Everton pubs. For most teams it won't be an issue RS, Geordies, Manc clubs and others.Would imagine we would just keep away fans in if the potential for any bother, why I find it mad where the family section is located. We are going to walk past the south stand and down the west as it just saves any issues as I not putting my 5 through any stress
I wouldn't say that's true 'historically' at all. In the last couple of years there's been a bit of a move towards fans congregating together at one ground and walking through the park to the other, 'ultras style' if you like, but even then it's only a minority of fans.I don't think that will work either, I know United fans at Anfield and RS at OT are kept in after game. Certainly still the plenty of rumours of delays , whether it’s accurate or not I’ve no clueSo if thats what they do then the delay talked of on here, boxes etc not being ready, isn't now the case.

You always had small numbers who walked across park. I don't know when or why it started RS marching to GP. I don't know whether they are walked from a particular pub or they just meet outside Anfield to march up. I'm not sure whether it's pushed by police, because this year they walked them through gate opposite hot wok, usually they walk them down Walton Lane past Abbey. I think it will be chaos personally, with parking restrictions as well, more and more fans will go on ale before match and get public transport home.I wouldn't say that's true 'historically' at all. Plenty of side streets to walk up to the next main road up, which I did, plus if it's bad weather then walking is better then sitting in the stadium, gets the blood goingYou walked back in decent weather from a half capacity crowd.
Disabled fans IIRC can get closer to the stadium at the beginning of soft closure areas (not sure how far travel by car into it is possible - starts on Bankfield St to the north of the stadium and Saltney St to the south). And that's time related before it turns into a hard closure area an hour before KO, so disabled supporters may have to get to the stadium pretty early.
Stand to be corrected on that.
Yep, tbf I'd be happy to break the walk up with a pint as wellI`ve not walked the route for a long time, but it is a lot more of a straight forward walk back to town then it was at Goodison, and when the developers get their fingers out and get on with what they propose to do with the area to the south of the stadium it looks like it will be a nice area to walk through. At the last test event a lot of folks walking into town seemed to head straight down Regent road and there was a bit of a build up at the bridge which seemed to cause a bit of an issue. Not sure how many folks headed out towards Great Howard street where there seems to be plenty of footpath space to walk to town on. There might need to be a system put in place to encourage folks from the north side of the ground to head from the ground straight out towards Great Howard street before turning right towards town and have most of the foot traffic going down Regent road coming from the south stand to avoid having a bottle neck at the bridge.
Our lot will still be able to that as the plan in the short term is to leave Goodison as it is. Enough of the pubs that have crowds on a match day will still be in operation to accommodate our away support going to the pit even for a cup tie.I wouldn't say that's true 'historically' at all.
