Everton Champions 1970

The best attacking Everton attractive football side ever Imo - watching PSG the other night fetched back memories of how that side used to play in its pomp - Alan Ball was world class - two great wingers - the holy trinity their passing was one touch football was so precise - the pace over lapping fullbacks - the defence Labby & Hurst & a great keeper in West - the pitches were atrocious full of mud the home side used to flood their pitches to slow them down - also if they were 3-0 up which they often were - like PSG the best form of defence was attack - we went for more goals ...
One forward at no 9 a young Joe Royle who was pure class....

The away fans used to clap us off at half time as the football was scintillating & we would be a few goal's ahead 1968 to 1970 was a dream to watch them going to Anfield & winning at a cantor 2-0 - with the whole Anfield road end chanting Champions no stop the whole of the 2nd half - I was in the KOP aged 12 years old ...

Alan Ball was he that good = yes he used to dribble past a man & pose by sitting on the ball !
He could split a defence with one pass sometimes doing a gaboana.. mr perpetual motion never liked getting beat !
