Today’s Football - 2024/25 Season

Brilliant game. End to end and just a pity France didn’t get that fourth earlier. They had their chances before that though

Wouldn’t mind that Yamal on a season long loan either

Yamal is extraordinary and i see no current player at his level in the world. No one has the versatility and decisive impact on the game than the 17 year old, its unprecedented as the expectation would be that he can only get better

It is amazing…. He looks like he is playing in a school yard (said during his penalty)…. That’s what gets me.

The only person I remember seeing like that closer to home is Rooney.

At 17 years and playing like that against the best players in the world is unbelievable.

Really excited to watch more of him!

Reminds me of early Messi days where I only wanted to get my fill of watching Leo play as much as possible - same with Lamine, I can’t recall a player that evoked so much joy from their play

Cor what a game. Some talent on show. Cherki changed the game when he came on, not seen a play that two footed since Cazorla

But Yamal my christ, comfortably the best player on the planet right now and at only 17. Should win the Ballon Dor this year

Admittedly I did not watch the Spain vs France match, but I did look at both nations' squads. If I had to choose a squad which had more quality within it, I would have to select the Spanish squad as it contains plenty of players which I rate - Yamal, Olmo, Williams, Marino and Ruiz to name just a few.

However, that match was packed with top quality players all over the pitch and I am struggling to see how England could better Spain. Maybe England could out-do France, as they seem to be undergoing a transition, but I still have my doubts as to whether England could beat that France side.
