New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Big difference between a snack and 3 course sit down meal. I think the closest equivalent restaurant offering at BMD must have been closer to 3k at a guess (of course including match ticket).
The Village is only free booze before the game and at half time, drink after the final whistle will be chargeable.
Bet this off site gaff opens earlier (and maybe closes later) too.

Bloody hell everyone is thinking too hard about this.

Let’s just call it ‘NEW PLACE TO DRINK BUT TO BE CLEAR THIS NAME HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GOODISON, OR ANYTHING, AT ALL, AND IS ORGANIC TO THE FANS (OR NOT, DEPENDING UPON YOUR PREFERENCE). JUST SPEND MONEY HERE, PLEASE. KTHXBYE.”

Nobody could be offended by that.
I’m deeply offended someone would name a boozer with such an obvious money grab in mind.

Disgraceful

The club should be buying up some of these places around the ground. A few million on a couple of these sites that could be redeveloped and sold on for a nice profit or kept and create a revenue stream for the club outside of match days. Better than signing a player that doesn`t deliver the goods but we`re stuck paying them 3 or 4 million a year for 3 years and then leaves on a free.

You would hope that this sort of thing is what Colin Chong is going to be all over as part of his remit, we need to control the area around the stadium as much as possible. Creating extra revenue streams will be vital to our growth. Really hope we can get some sort of indoor venue for concerts etc.

Generally prefer heavy rail metros with underground stations etc to tram networks tbh. They're usually much faster and more efficient systems. Merseyrail's problem is that the network wasn't really completed. Maybe some of this funding will open up the prospect of the loopline(s) in the long term. If that was to happen the passenger numbers could more than match metrolinks.
I think one of the problems here - outside of simple cost - is I don't think "new" heavy rail can have 3rd rail traction anymore (at least not easily). The regulator has been strongly discouraging it for the last 10 years on a safety basis. That's why - I believe - when Headbolt Lane was opened, they had to cut back the third rail a bit, and then use the bi-mode 777s that are fitted with batteries on the Kirkby line. Caveat - I've not worked in the UK for over 20 years, but I believe that's now the case.

Seems to be a few places coming on the market around the stadium and if the club picked up a lot of the early days they could put the clubs stamp on the whole area, and not have to run people out of their homes to do it.

I know what you mean but i'd rather they didn't to be honest. The club have got a million ways to make money, i'd much rather have local businesses getting an opportunity to prosper and different offerings being available rather than just a homogenised area where everywhere is selling exactly the same stuff at exactly the same prices.

It says "3 routes" not 3 gliders. some of that money will be for the gliders themselves, but some of it is in the infrastructure, ticketing etc. In Belfast they spent £94.5 million when they introduced the gliders and it broke down like this;

A. Glider vehicles £24m
B. Glider halts £6.2m
C. Glider real time information £1.3m
D. Glider off-vehicle ticketing £7.4m
E. Other (Infrastructure) £55.6m

If they do a route where people can get it on a match day from the liverpool one bus station, along the dock road to the stadium I can see it being well used
