The club hasn’t actually yet confirmed Roma on 9th August have they? Or did I miss something?I assumed the Roma friendly on the 9th August is the 3rd test event?

Big difference between a snack and 3 course sit down meal. I think the closest equivalent restaurant offering at BMD must have been closer to 3k at a guess (of course including match ticket).Wasn't the village £1700 +vat for the cheapest for free food and drinks before during and after?
The Village is only free booze before the game and at half time, drink after the final whistle will be chargeable.Big difference between a snack and 3 course sit down meal. I’m deeply offended someone would name a boozer with such an obvious money grab in mind.Bloody hell everyone is thinking too hard about this.
Let’s just call it ‘NEW PLACE TO DRINK BUT TO BE CLEAR THIS NAME HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GOODISON, OR ANYTHING, AT ALL, AND IS ORGANIC TO THE FANS (OR NOT, DEPENDING UPON YOUR PREFERENCE). JUST SPEND MONEY HERE, PLEASE. KTHXBYE.”
Nobody could be offended by that.
The club should be buying up some of these places around the ground. A few million on a couple of these sites that could be redeveloped and sold on for a nice profit or kept and create a revenue stream for the club outside of match days. Better than signing a player that doesn`t deliver the goods but we`re stuck paying them 3 or 4 million a year for 3 years and then leaves on a free.
You would hope that this sort of thing is what Colin Chong is going to be all over as part of his remit, we need to control the area around the stadium as much as possible. Creating extra revenue streams will be vital to our growth. Really hope we can get some sort of indoor venue for concerts etc.The club should be buying up some of these places around the ground. I think one of the problems here - outside of simple cost - is I don't think "new" heavy rail can have 3rd rail traction anymore (at least not easily). The regulator has been strongly discouraging it for the last 10 years on a safety basis. That's why - I believe - when Headbolt Lane was opened, they had to cut back the third rail a bit, and then use the bi-mode 777s that are fitted with batteries on the Kirkby line. Caveat - I've not worked in the UK for over 20 years, but I believe that's now the case.Generally prefer heavy rail metros with underground stations etc to tram networks tbh. They're usually much faster and more efficient systems. Merseyrail's problem is that the network wasn't really completed. Maybe some of this funding will open up the prospect of the loopline(s) in the long term. If that was to happen the passenger numbers could more than match metrolinks.
Seems to be a few places coming on the market around the stadium and if the club picked up a lot of the early days they could put the clubs stamp on the whole area, and not have to run people out of their homes to do it.You would hope that this sort of thing is what Colin Chong is going to be all over as part of his remit, we need to control the area around the stadium as much as possible. The brick Blackstone Street warehouse in that article is, for me, far more desirable than the cheap-looking corrugated one that's asking twice the price.
If your drinking for 3 hours free, I'd prefer fish n chips or burger than a 3 course mealThe Village is only free booze before the game and at half time, drink after the final whistle will be chargeable.
Bet this off site gaff opens earlier (and maybe closes later) too.
I know what you mean but i'd rather they didn't to be honest. The club have got a million ways to make money, i'd much rather have local businesses getting an opportunity to prosper and different offerings being available rather than just a homogenised area where everywhere is selling exactly the same stuff at exactly the same prices. The club should be buying up some of these places around the ground. There wasn't that many season tickets added with Bramley Moore so I assume there'll be a window for x amount of creditsAre tickets for the first home game likely to be based on some sort of ‘credits’ system, or just a good old free for all in an online queue?
