2024/25 Iliman Ndiaye

Pleased he finished the season with a couple of strong games. Good sign he's over the injury and can have a good start to the new season.
People were comparing him to Demarai Gray in this thread just last month which is seriously embarrassing. Honestly, some of our 'fans' don't deserve good players. We’re lucky to have him; he’s a joy to watch

He has clear weaknesses but his strengths are top level. He is insane at what he does. If he can round out his game, he becomes one of the top players in the league. Can he become a better playmaker and improve his final ball? Maybe add a strike from distance? Sometimes his execution and technique when hitting the ball is lacking. That will be the next step for him

Fortunately, these are all things that can be worked on. 25 is no age, really.

He’s some player that’s for sure.

Pienaar was a consistent 7/10 every game though. Right now Ndiaye sometimes goes missing.

Think that having an actual quality footballer in Baines playing behind him helped a lot.

I’m not taking anything away from pienaar… I loved him … he also had a top quality arteta just inside …

Would have been interesting to see how n’diaye and Baines would have played together …

Property dyche that our most skilful player’s main contributions were on our own goal line

Thank god he left
Dyche 😆 ,left this lad on the bench first few games, then later in the season after he'd shown what he can do said that he didn't have the attributes to play the 10 role... He wanted a team full of Michael Keane's and Doucoure's.

But apparently he’d ’taken the team as far as it could go’

I don’t believe Ndiaye “goes missing”, he's always looking to get on the ball and carry it, usually from deep in our own half. He certainly has off days, had a couple below par games on his return from injury but I’d reserve “goes missing” for the Jimmy Garners of this world, not the Ndiayes.

To be fair, and i really dont want to be fair to Dyche.
Moyes plays him on the left also......albeit since Moyes came in, he receives the ball higher up the pitch and is allowed to drift inside

For the most part Piennar played in a much better team and he had Europe's most creative left back playing behind him.
Also I don’t think they’re similar players like everyone suggests. I’ve never seen anyone at Everton with dribbling ability like Ndiaye- in relatively recent times only Kanchelskis comes close. Besides, Pienaar is a more creative player overall and was more of an out and out winger. I think Moyes will use Ndiaye centrally more often, both have contrasting skill-sets, for example defensively Ndiaye has been fantastic.
