Roma were already a top 6 team, they still are.

Their task here is much harder, turn a bottom six/bottom half team to a top 6, won't be easy but they have goodwill and a little time on their side to make that happen.
Tbf it didn’t Moshiri long to turn a top 7 out fit into a bottom 7 one, personally I see no reason why with one or two astute windows that can’t be reversed.
This squad is nowhere near as bad as Dycheball off the back of amateur hour Fronk would have us believe.
There’s enough there that a couple of decent signings could make a significant difference.

Once an business entity is acquired by a franchise minded set of owners, there is no way out. Utilize the rules, take controlling interest elsewhere, and bring enough customers under one effective banner.

In the news this morning about Palace not getting their place in the Europa league due to Lyon being in it too and Palace owner having a stake in them. Similar to the City and Girona situation a few seasons back. UEFA seem to be going heavy on Palace, a team that qualified for Europe by what they did on the pitch rather than how much money they spent. This could be a problem for us if we get into the same European competition as Roma down the road.

See Palace are in talks with UEFA about playing in the Europa League next season.

Apparently there’s an issue with Textor owning 40% of Palace and owning Lyon.

Does that point to a potential problem for next season if we make Europe?

Thought there was an away to isolate European teams under group ownership whereby if the controlling interest could be shown to be different for each club it was fine?

Edit - not quite, one can be in the CL and another in the UEFA whatever it’s called now, but even then it gets tricky if one drops down into the ‘lower comp’
If they end up in the same comp it goes to merit points and the lowest drop down.
Could be tricky for us with our record when we get CL if Roma are already there

Qualified for Europe only twice in their history (I think) and been barred twice. This and the aftermath of Heysel in relation to the lack co-efficient points gained during the ban.

Would be a nice problem to have.

Not trying to be a misery guts, but it really isn’t that inconceivable.

6 English teams in the Champions League next season. Nearly half the premier league is in Europe next season.

It’s an issue they need to look into. If either us or Roma were denied entry into a European competition on the grounds of duel ownership, the fume would be off the scale.
