2024/25 Jarrad Branthwaite

I dont care how much money chelsea offer.

This summer is either are turning point or not.

We dont need the money. Nor do we need to sell.
I agree with this. Let's be fair: we KNEW Moshiri was a con-man, albeit well-meaning, by the end of the summer 2016 window. We deluded ourselves, to some extent, that he had made a decent start, but if you can't go a long way to transformation in the first summer, you're not really going to transform anything. And we need transformation.

If we sell, Branthwaite, nothing has changed.

Good test for the new owners and their people, either secure a new contract with a release clause we can live with or secure a huge transfer fee.

The ignorance of modern football journalism is such that they don't realise we are dealing with the finest defensive prospect in Europe here.
Indeed. This will be the meaaure of our new owners. If they are the tough operators we have been led to assume, Brainthwaite wont be going anywhere.

Over the summer, we will need a signature moment, a statement of sorts to get an idea of where we are heading.

Yup. Given their history at Roma, they like a grand gesture. If we don't see something similar here, well, we can draw the logical conclusions about where we are in their pecking order...

Agree with this, they seem to like to make statements. I expect that is most likely once psr is completely sorted

If he wants to go, he’s gone. And in that event, we’d probably have to settle on the fee, too. We may be financially secure and have no need to sell, but if staying with us for another year isn’t as attractive to him as the alternative, we’re stuck.

Whats sad about this thread is that - thanks to the inept stewardship of the club over 35 years - we have come to accept our best players will go. Well, I really believe that is going to change, but I also know its going to be hard, at this time, for us to see that.

Its like we have been trapped in an abusive relationship and accept there is no hope of change.

Change is built on hope.

He’s not for sale. We as a club need to send a sign or i should say TFG do that us selling our best players happened under previous regimes…but not under their watch
