Hopes for next season.

Go for a European place, might just miss out but go for it. Going off our form since Jan, there's no reason why we can't mount a challenge for a place.

I think shouts of Europe is a bit of a stretch although not out of reach when we need to bring in so many new faces. Most new signings don't work out. They may keep you treading water but those gem signings that push you on are hard to find. Even harder to get 2 at the same time that gel. See how many players Chelsea & Man Utd have consumed than spat out over the last few seasons. Thelwell had done OK but even his hit rate is low & we don't yet know how the new recruitment team will perform.
If we need 8 new players we will be lucky if 3-4 of them genuinely do a job for us similarly to Ndiaye, Big Jake etc. Of all the loans we are only keeping 1 of them.
I do however think we now have a first 11 (Charlie & Gana included) that should see us free from any relegation nonsense.
I honestly see a 12th to 9th place finish but with a healthy margin to the bottom, similarly to how comfortable 12th to 9th have sat this season gone.

I suppose my hope is that we exceed this as I expect the above.

I'd love to say we should be gunning for Europe but I'd be happy for a boring Brentford/Fulham style mid-table season where we're never in danger of relegation. This is what Everton has done to my ambitions!

- settle in to our new home, make it hostile and get the environment correct. 40 points at home.
- invest in 18 experienced / ready players but give younger players squad time and minutes to develop alongside experience away from the stress of relegation. 2 home grown players play 10 games in all competitions.
- 60 points and minimum QF in cup competitions
- women’s team competes in top 3 and grows to average 10,000 attendance
- described in the media as a ‘well run club’ and we sit back and concentrate on the footy.

Some people on here were content with 17th this season, yet now they're wanting Europe and a trophy despite us having even less players at the moment?

I'll be holding off till some shopping is done.

Can only really be assessed once we know what the likely squads will be across all 20 teams and the state of injuries.

If the Friedkins want Europe then the best way to do it would be to give the manager the sixth best squad. If they give him the 12th or 13th best though then we’re back to fans arguing over whether the manager has over performed enough or not.

Just want a few big unexpected wins. Bloody a few noses, especially the RS. A derby win and a win at one of emirates, Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge would be good for Moyes to throw off a few hoodoos.

Would also be good if we could avoid anything ‘Everton that’ and start building a feeling of being a more lucky team at our new stadium than the absolutely cursed one we’ve been at Goodison recently.

Also a cup draw that didn’t read ‘top 6 team away from home’ in the first few rounds would be nice.

The last four cup eliminations have been at home, and only one of the last eight fits that description:

FAC 24/25 - Bournemouth H
LC 24/25 - Soton H
FAC 23/24 - Luton H
LC 23/24 - Fulham H
FAC 22/23 - Man U A
LC 22/23 - Bournemouth A
FAC 21/22 - Palace A
LC 21/22 - QPR A

We have absolutely no excuses. I'd absolutely love it if we could take a leaf out of Spurs' book - finish as 'worst of the rest' but finally win a trophy.

I’d pretty much blocked out hopes of winning a cup the last few seasons. Even so though with a better team hopefully it’s still a lot easier navigating earlier rounds if you don’t have City, Liverpool, Chelsea Arsenal A etc. come out the hat.

Hopefully if we can get back into some form of European football next season as well it increases the opportunity further.
