Everton Optimism 2025-2026

Anyone else feeling that with Moyes under the helm in the upcoming season. We may actually escape mid table mediocrity? As the last 10 seasons our league standing placements have been ranged from 7th to 17th ffs

It's a far stretch, but I haven't felt this optimistic & hopeful in a long time since supporting Everton (I became a fan in 2005) Imagine qualifying back to Europa league and hell even a far run in the FA Cup or even League Cup. Post Moyes 1st stint our best league finish was 5th under Martinez in 2013/14.

or will Everton simply do an Everton next year and back to finishing between 11th-17th

I don't think everything is all on this summer but a lot of it is.

All of what TFG have done to date, and they've done good things, won't mean anything unless it translates to money spent, and spent well.

The emphasis is on spending well and spending well consistently.

I'm a little concerned that the transfer structure isn't fully put together yet but you would hope that this is imminent and that discussions and prep work have been ongoing.

We"ll soon see what things amount to and whether it's coming together or not. But cautious optimism is better than none.

At this moment in time, strong finish in the league, Dyche gone, new owners, new stadium, Charly deal done early…

We’ve not been in such a good spot for a long time.

….my fear it’s a bit like my ‘team selection theory’. More specifically, when there’s lots of fume about team selection we invariably play really well but when posters are delighted we fail.

Hopefully the ‘Eggs Theory’ doesn’t work the same for next seasons positivity

It's one of the most open premier leagues for a long time - there are no outstanding teams, a bit of luck and some good signings and we could be competing for CL or definitely European places. We are better than Forest, Newcastle and Villa. Definitely better than Fulham, Brighton etc. I predict 17th.

No amazing teams but lots of very good ones. Spurs and United will certainly improve too. Top ten would be a good season, and something to build on.

Lots of teams in Europe, so hopefully we can take advantage of that.
