ANALYSIS: Pub numbers down by over 15,000 in past 25 years
The figures found from 2023 to 2024, pub numbers fell by 350.
They are not from same brewer as Estrella Damm. Galicia is definitely my favourite “regular” beer over here. Will go with Damm or San Miguel if it’s hot and there’s nothing else, but Galicia is always good.
If I go for something stronger I’d recommend Alhambra Reserva 1925
Or for a lovely IPA I go for Complot which is from same brewers as Estrella Damm

Beautiful stuff, creamy, oaty and silky.
Makes you remember how good a decent pint not mild can be.

If you like Bass here's a big, big list. Seven pubs included in Merseyside (plus Ye Cracke, which is closed). Also the White Lion in West Kirby - Cheshire according to this.

I heartily agree with this chap's musings. My heart sinks when I see a row of 'American' citrusy beers at the bar. Thankfully it's not as prevalent here as it appears to be in London, but it's getting there.

I can see the logic, as they`re there to try and tempt the lager drinkers away from lager in the Summer.
I do agree that there can be too many on at once though, as a lot of them can taste very similar to each other - hop bombs.

All over hopped with stupid beer tasting notes : pomegranate and physalis, with a hint of melon and undercurrents of grapefruit, lemon and the scent of orange groves - ad nauseum.
The irony is none of them taste anything like American IPA's/Pale Ales that I've had in the states, certainly on the west coast. They are much more like classic British IPA's - clear, tan/amber, a little sweet. I didn't see any hazy hop bombs in 3 weeks of significant research across as many states.
One of my favourites. Had a pint of Boltmaker yesterday. Also very nice.

Anyone else noticed amount of places, that serve flat ale, bizarrely a lot of rougher boozers serve better pints than posh places. I don't know whether it's because staff don't drink it, or what.
