We had an obligation to buy if he started a few more games apparently, which would have avoided that possibility.

Fortunately, it would appear Thelwell shrewdly included a contingency to get a deal done before the end of May, so no harm done.

And absolutely, right age, attributes and character. I think he’ll be a huge hit next season.
