Only that we won the league the season before he came then when he left. I think we did change the way we played to suit his style but we did have a few key injuries so he wasn't totally to blame.not a lot about us or the 80's tbh. A book or a documentary involving all the england squad from italia 90 would be good though. Whilst they're all still here, and their memories of Robson.
It didn't help that the RS got something like 34 points from the last 12 games.Only that we won the league the season before he came then when he left. I think we did change the way we played to suit his style but we did have a few key injuries so he wasn't totally to blame.![]()
And we only had to win our last three, but lost at Oxford. It didn't help that the RS got something like 34 points from the last 12 games.
Yes, we changed our style completely to suit his pace.Only that we won the league the season before he came then when he left. I think we did change the way we played to suit his style but we did have a few key injuries so he wasn't totally to blame.![]()
Southall played in the loss at Luton and he got injured after it.Losing Southall in March in an international friendly doesn't help.
You've got two losses in there to Luton and Oxford which could have been different with the big man in goal.
And then there's the Cup Final
It wasn’t his fault...but it would have helped had he slotted one or both sitters here:
Until I saw that I never realised he's never won a top league winners medal.Yes, we changed our style completely to suit his pace.
Superb player though, even if we won nothing with him
I remember thinking the Forest game was a good result they'd been on a good run. We battered them second half but never created any clear cut chances and they nearly caught us on the break a few times.Southall played in the loss at Luton and he got injured after it.
Man Utd and Forest draws away from home killed us in that run-in before the Oxford game.
Mark Higgins was playing for Utd in that game and cleared one off the line…we blew so many chances in that game and if we had won I think that was the cushion we needed against LFCs unbelievable run-in.
Sharpy stated he & other players missed loads of easy chances that night = the pressure made most players do it - that old boots analogy was rubbish for GL....He didn't have his favourite pair of boots that night
