Stupid move going to that club to sit. Not overly bothered about him coming here but cant see him up to that standard. Desbury Hall, Drinkwater etc...
He would have been a good signing...but you have to pay a premium for young talented English footballers even if in this case he has a relegation clause. 30 millions will get you a more accomplished striker from abroad, no doubt about it and probably on less wages. We should stay away from buying young English players unless it is for the youth teams where we can then develop them into pl players. That's should be the model going forward and the only way we perhaps could maybe catch up with some of the bigger teams in the country.

They have the youngest squad in the league and have potentially a fine side playing in Europe . He will be getting paid handsomely but he also must have confidence in his own ability to be an important player there too.

Problem is that too big of a gamble. He wanted first team football having barely played for city senior team, and one solid season in the championship...we should be getting the likes of delap into the academy at a younger age. If we want to go back to the top, the only way is to have the best academy in the country.
The thing that really surprises me about this deal is the notion that Chelsea see him as their starting No9.
