Tuchel is a disaster appointment for England.
SInce Mainz he's been a coach thats been dropped into great squads.

I'm not expecting him to sign with us. Utd will offer him more money, as will Newcastle and Chelsea (who are both in the champions league). Yes, I'd expect us to be able to offer more regular game time, but as mentioned above, he will back himself to get into any team. Its a shame for his career is he does go and sit on a bench somewhere, but its his choice.

Most players in this situation with options will go for the glamour move. They won't be concerned about getting game time, it's all ego and $$$ and not cold football logic.

We're not going to win in the majority of these cases. No harm in making an approach but you have to move on quickly. It is good here that it seems a decision will be made in the next week.

It's a global market and we'll do well to focus on finding players that can be in demand a year or two from now having played for us, and we'll get them in cheaper.

They are reportedly bringing in Emegha from their sister club Strasbourg for 2026. Also linked with other forwards like Ekitike and David.

Jackson wont just drop to 2nd choice and even if Maresca 'promises' Delap anything -- the owners buy players willy nilly.

He gets a chunky salary, to play with his mate Palmer and of course London lifestyle...not sure if thats all a massive sway at his age -- an amazing move if he can become 1st choice quickly.

If not, a very bad move.

My concern with delap is he is a red card waiting to happen. 12 yellows this season. 1 every 3 games. He has ability but that side of his game would need improvement.

Let’s be honest he’s worked all his life for a shot at the top, when he is given that shot it’s would be madness on his part to not take the chance. The lad backs himself to succeed and that’s why he is where he is, yeah it’s a risk but no risk no reward.

I’d rather us go for a complete unknown and try and find a baller. We need another Lukaku, or Kanchelskis type signing, an absolute difference maker upfront.
