2024/25 Michael Keane

Deserves a new contract on reduced wages to reflect his playing less

Always good to keep players who can play multiple positions, would seriously consider him a back up forward rather than back up defender

I think the reality is he's always been better on the attack than defence. We've got Broja going and DCL hopefully going, we need someone who can be a back up to Beto and Chermiti
No, he absolutely does not.

Wouldn’t amaze me if we let him go and then sign him again in August, when he hasn’t had a better offer
Remember we did that with Pistone once.

Worth keeping as a 4th choice CB, with no signing on fee the wages shouldn’t be an issue.
Unfortunately Everton are one of the unfortunate clubs that PSR applies to so the money can be used more effectively elsewhere

Jesus how short term is your memory.

Keane should be kicked out on his arse never to be seen again.

Any decision to keep Keane will be assessed on risk/cost basis. It’s clearly not because he’s good enough - it’s about trying to make our transfer power go further and weighing that against the risk of him playing occasionally which is mad but I think that’s where we are

With two youngish centre backs already we will need someone experienced who is preferably a ( HGP home grown player ).

What is the alternative Tyrone Mings ?

...or do we loan someone with pace from abroad ?

A loans a possibility certainly but even then there are loan fees and the salary on top. Not sure whether agents get a fee as well with loans?
