2024/25 Vitalii Mykolenko

Really like Mykolenko.

I think there is an element of underrating him at times, by Everton fans. As a list of priorities, first choice left back is right down the list along with first choice Keeper, in my opinion.

There is a strength of character in him, there is a passion not only to play for Everton but to improve. I can easily see him being first choice for at least a couple of seasons, as we hopefully improve as a team. Then it will be a case, has he improved enough to be here longer?

He is also bigger and stronger. Happy to have him

@Mr Happy - Rather than discuss Mykolenko in the O'Brien thread, i'll respond to your post in this one.

"I think we must be watching different players. He’s not Baines or Digne and that for some, me included means he's not all that but defensively he's pretty solid."

He has had a few excellent games for us defensively, notably against Salah and even done well against Saka (although has required additional help from the winger ahead of him doubling up on Saka too). But there are loads of games where he isn't switched on defensively or he lets them get in behind him. Saw it a couple of times last night.

He's one of the worst full backs we've had in the PL era going forward though. Useless. I reckon O'Brien is a better full back than him on the right and it's not even his favoured position. Mykolenko would be a reliable squad LB, but not good enough as a starter if we want to progress in to a top half team.

Cool. Like I said I don't agree with your opinion but that's cool.

I mean, he got 2 last season.

He improved offensively after Moyes came in and we stopped playing 11 men in our half behind the ball
I should of said on average per season, if you say him improving means he goes over the halfway line now thats fine other than that he's crap, crossing awful, interplay awful on the ball in the final 3rd awful etc etc.
