2024/25 David Moyes

To be fair, I don't think many would have been confident Man Utd/Spurs would be below 40 points on gameweek 37 either.

Nor would anyone have expected the bottom 3 to go on to be the worst bottom 3, ever.

Interesting. in nearly 30 years, the bottom three have earned in total 100+ points just five times. This season officially the worst for the bottom three by seven points. Since? last season.
Four lowest bottom 3 totals in the last seven seasons. This has to be because of the concentration of talent at the sides at the top, making the vast gap in quality so large that promoted sides struggle to even get through a season, let alone with a punchers chance of survival.

He's done brilliantly well. He couldn't have done any better.

Allardyce had us finish 8th.

Like Allardyce, we all know what Moyes is as a manager.

Opinions have long been formed over 20+ years. There isn't a manager in world football who Evertonians will have a more sure opinion on than Moyes.
Agreed, I think it makes sense to keep him while we still have to stabilise - at the end of his current contract we should theoretically have much more PSR wiggle-room and much more income from the new stadium. It would make sense to then go for a manager we see as really taking us forward to being a consistent European team and challenging for trophies.

Moyes has been a breath of fresh air this second half of the season. Many reasons to be optimistic / positive while keeping feet on the ground. He definitely seems more self assured and relaxed this time around.

Hasn’t been perfect and I think he probably feels he should’ve been at least 4 points better off, Utd and Ipswich should’ve been wins let’s be honest, but we’ve remained hard to beat while actually attempting to play football, and that’s been a very welcome change.

I think the goals conceded stat is a great indicator of our increased attacking threat actually giving opposing teams something else to think about other than breaking down a low block.

If we get Delap / a striker over the line early I’d be hopeful of a bit of momentum in the transfer market and landing some other targets a bit more easily. Realistically though we probably wont have it all our way, but it does look as though things are finally moving in the right direction.

I’ve just been told Moyes is on £12.5m per year.

Is this astronomical salary correct? Surely not

Someone please tell me that’s one figure to cover the length of the full contract…

The only place I’ve seen report that is the s*n and GB News from a Google.

I’m very very sure it’s bs and it’s actually 12.5m over the course of his contract
