🤣 other than it’s actually Ā£100k x 52 x 3 and Ā£15.6m it’s still fantastic value for an England capped 28 year old for 3 years.

When you think Chermiti has cost more than that and contributed less in the last 2 years.

If he’s fit and plays 10 games or scores 5 goals we could flog him next year for Ā£15m and still turn a significant profit
To quote Stuart Lee on Game of Thrones "being really clever and about politics and history and stuff like that"...

"Is it though?"

Those England caps, the last of which was about 4 years ago, are doing some serious heavy lifting.

Everton will want to keep him. We need a squad.

If he goes, we need to replace him and as a benchmark - £15m on Sporting's 4th choice striker before wage.
But he offers nothing.

Can’t score reliably and has shown no indication once he has been behind Beto in the pecking order that he will even work hard when brought on.

Utter waste of whatever money we would pay him. I could fill a space in the squad if I’m not actually expected to return on having that spot so what is the point in DCL?

It's uncanny, no matter where the keeper is positioned or where lewin in shooting from, he nearly always manages to find him. Moving into the new stadium the club really does need to moving on and attracting far better than this.
That comes down to composure, or lack of.

The best finishers, at any age, are composed and put it in the space, whereas those without it blast it, usually at the largest target within the goal.

Exactly. He's there to score goals, and he doesn't do that.

….a goalscorer also has a picture of the goal and the position of the goalkeeper in their mind. As you say, they’re able to come down a gear and invariably finish inside the post.

As a kid every lamppost on my walk to school was a goalpost and I had a vision of the ball going inside it. A bit weird really but I was prolific as a youngster, I have wondered if other kids back then thought similar.

I dont get why there is such a saga over him either. Does this happen elsewhere. If a forward isnt performing at other clubs dont they just get moved on. Call me nuts but i think our fanbase has been tolerant with him. We've had very little for around 5 years. I cant think of many clubs he'd have got the last 5 years out of.
And looking from the outside he looks like he thought he could do better than Everton and has had a rude awakening.

Everton will likely tease us with news of a massive deal and reveal DCL on improved terms haha. He's been average all his career bar a small purple patch that feels like it was in 1967
