2024/25 David Moyes

One hell of a turnaround for the season once he came in. More points, more goals, more competitive, more to be positive about.

I’m more than happy for Moyes to take us into the new stadium next season on this trajectory, and I trust him to spend wisely this summer strengthening the key areas that need it.

There’s a lot of work to be done, but I don’t think it’s unrealistic to have an outside chance of finishing in the European spots next season provided we get a little lucky with injuries.

Top half is the realistic aim for next season in my view. That's not the height of my ambition by any means, but that would represent good progress and is achievable. Id be disappointed if we are finishing 13th again. Need to be competing with how the likes of Brighton and Bournemouth have been this season (words that 10 years ago I never thought I'd say, admittedly), and hopefully with some luck could threaten that famous 7th spot we loved for so many years.

We've got a LOT of work ahead and by no means can it just be assumed we'll automatically kick on, but for the first time in a long while there are very real practical reasons for feeling optimistic, and that we are going in the right direction.

Some achievement - Jesus this type of rubbish is one of the reasons we haven’t won anything. He hasn’t done it over a full season so it’s irrelevant. We can all remember his traditional poor half of the season followed by top 2 or 3 form for second half of the season.
With the right additions to the squad we should be aiming for 70 + points next year.

Delusional gaslighting award goes to …..

Not exactly like for like stylistically of course mate, similar though, but fulfilling that hybrid role of second full back/winger.

I agree mate and I think Moyes values that, particularly away.

Be up to Leeds, he’s no clause active now, so I imagine Leeds will want done return or get him out of their hair.

Kinnear will obviously have the inside track.

I mean I can't imagine he's going to massively want to go back to Leeds for their relegation fight and almost inevitable relegation either. It doesn't seem like they massively want him either.

I mean, even aside from the gulf in points picked up between Dyche and Moyes, let’s not forget just how dreadful the footy was under Dyche this season. Was going the game expecting us not to have a single shot at times. Absolute eye aids at times, and impossible to enjoy in any way.

Under Dyche it went from hoping we could win, to hoping we could draw, hoping we could score, to get some shots.

Was just losing all sense of hope as the season progressed.

Looking at how he turned things round for us, is it unreasonable to hope for 55-65 points nest season, or am I setting my sights too low?
If we get recruitment right I’d say too low. The increased number of games played in European football seems to have had an effect on the league. Be interesting to see if it’s a one off or not.
