Pete is 80 and deaf.
Roger is 81 going deaf and blind.
Moon died years ago
Entwistle has gone too.
They fired their competent drummer Starkey, because Roger wants his mate in the band.
Pete is bored rehashing the old songs, but can’t resist a final payday.

Doesn’t really bode well. One last chance to fleece the fans. Should have retired long ago. The band was over when Moon died. Can Pete even swing his arm around anymore?

Does any of these cash grabs really ever work?
At what point should they given up?

Is there a justification for sending 80+ year olds out touring? Or is it just elder abuse?

How much would you pay to see a “band” like this? Are tour like this ever really worth it?

What band have you paid huge amounts of money to see that should have retired years ago? Have any other tours like been really worth it?

Self abuse? Remember listening to Jagger being interviewed in his 60s,he said it wasn't about the money,more an addiction to the buzz of the crowd. At the end of the day the Who tour will sell out and nobody will be forced to buy the tickets.

Who knows what or why the reasons for their motivation but this era of musicians kept the record business afloat so I'm not arsed if they continue to get their own.

Doesn't mean I'm going to see them TBH.

A couple of years ago I went to see Jethro Tull again, first time since 1992. Now Ian Anderson isn't exactly a youngsters and I did worry whether his voice and energy would be the same, or if the whole experience would just be depressing, leaving me feeling sad for the passage of time.

It took the first phrase of the first song for me to realise I had nothing to worry about. Quite how sone of these can keep going so well, despite their age, baffles me.

I suppose I really can’t get over Roger’s senile pro-Brexit rants, as one of the few “popular” people they could find to publicly support it.
He thought it wouldn’t make any difference to musicians, as they would still offer him millions to tour, his people waited sort out all the red tape, you could still tour Europe on the cheap in the early 60’s, AND he’d be paying less tax as a millionaire. Everyone is a winner!!
