The club where I played cricket as a lad, and where my son currently plays, has previously held games for the first and second teams over the years.

These days, the demands by Lancashire if they are to hold a game makes it completely unviable: huge upfront cost; the vast majority of bar takings: % of tickets.

The club keep knocking them back because all they care about is the money.
