  • Nope

Who was Roomey’s replacement?
Who was Lukaku’s replacement?
Who was Onana’s replacement?
Who was Iwobi’s replacement?

Who was Richarlison’s replacement?
All players we doesn’t want to lose, but had to sell. How many of their replacements were improvements?

We improved as a team the season after selling all of these. They are not great examples if I’m being honest.

Few personal thoughts;
There aren't that many clubs in Europe with bigger budgets than English clubs.
Very few leave that can't be replaced.
In most cases having loan players is in long run to the detriment of the club as it does not benefit transfer fee wise from their development in our colours. It gives short term flexibility but long term it usually more beneficial to lending club.

All of the top 6 clubs have sold first team players.

Good grief Mike are you okay? Re read the post again. He clearly says keep the players they want to keep and sell fringe players. You appear to be willfully ignoring that and posting as if people are claiming top teams never sell anyone. Which nobody has said. Stop arguing with straw men and talk to us!

Did Liverpool want to sell Coutinho, Suarez, Mane, or Alexander-Arnold?

Did Chelsea want to sell Hazard, Courtois, Kovacic or Rudiger?
The only club in the world who doesn’t have to worry about clubs cherry picking their best players is Real Madrid. Every player has a price. No idea why people think it’s realistic for us to just hoard all of our best players for the rest of their careers, no football club has ever operated like that.

The starting point is buying in players that people want to buy from us. Apart from a handful of notable exceptions, we've bought players for too much and paid them over inflated wages to the point no other club wants to touch them. If we get to being a selling club we'll have already improved.
