Blackstone Warehouse will have to start playing techno remixes of Spirit of the Blues, thankfully the kopites will probably be five lines deep to notice!!
That's the one. My mate used to park up that way and we'd pop in as it was easy to get served. That the one on the Bootle/Kirkdale border? Looks derelict every time I go past
Have you not noticed that the crowds at all WSL games consist mainly of families and children? Hardly the alehouse types. The area and establishments that remain might be surprised by how many the womens team will get. I'm not suggesting that it'll be at the men's levels but I know many blues planning to go because of the pull of the grand old lady and the old routines. It may well prove to be a masterstroke from the new owners.
Around 2006 I would go the queens , the bottles of big Stella would be a great start to the dayBefore it shut those big bottles of Stella in the queens would sort the men from the boys pretty quickly
When in Liverpool (which is rare) I usually stay at Atlantic Tower. The Pig has always treated me well when open.I'd consider taking over The Pig but after a bit of consideration realised it probably wouldn't be good for my home life ha
Little Gold mine that place.

A group of us on Sunday, saddened at the idea of not going to the old lady again agreed that we'll be going back for a bevvy and to keep the connection when the women play. Since then I've heard many say the same. What I'm saying is not about women's football, it's about Goodison Park and cherished routines that many love and will keep going in some form. Maybe not every week but I'll be going. What I'm saying is that the pull of Goodison has the potential to benefit the womens team, and the area.Have you not noticed that the crowds at all WSL games consist mainly of families and children? As someone else has said, I think this will work initially because people will still have/want their routines, coupled with a lack of places near to the ground.Tony, the manager of the Darkhouse (Barlow Arms) has said he will run a coch from his pub to BMD and back for £6.50 if he can get 75 people to use it.
I hope this happens.Tony, the manager of the Darkhouse (Barlow Arms) has said he will run a coch from his pub to BMD and back for £6.50 if he can get 75 people to use it.
Young and dum but tbh the cost helped with my decision haha. You have my admiration starting with them , loved a big Stella but they were brutal
Sadly, I think you're right. Even if it does work for a few season, it will probably dwindle quite quickly. The women moving to Goodison will probably provide a little bit of respite, but only a little. Less home games, smaller crowd and different demographics. As someone else has said, I think this will work initially because people will still have/want their routines, coupled with a lack of places near to the ground.
However, sadly, and I hope I am wrong, I can't see it being sustained because people's routines will change, and they'll migrate to new places.
The practicalities of the bus won't be great either, I suspect: the proposed Walton Social Club is going to take about 20 minutes, and you won't get close to BMD.
So what time will people leave? The very latest would likely be 2.30pm, but I would say it's likely to be earlier. So when will people need to actually get there?
The good pubs will survive because they will attract clientele on non-match days; those who rely on games, well they can either change or die.
Hopefully, new pubs will open up, or we will find new places to frequent and build those new routines.
Nice one mate, sat near a family for 3 generations and the grandad still lives just off county so let him knowI hope this happens.
