So my question to you is what's the strategy once you divorce history?

Get good? Win trophies?

That's not a strategy. Everyone wants that.
Kodak, Woolworths, Blackberry and Blockbuster all relied on their history. They failed to adapt and became irrelevant. We both want the same thing but my strategy would focus more on brand building and leveraging overseas "customers" to generate the income required to compete. To your point, lineage means we wouldn't lose our local fanbase.

My reply to you is the same as my last one:

How?

Success brings in the lightweight supporters. Nothing else.

Or let's change the whole make up of the club to make us more modern just for the overseas markets.
Totally ignore how we have been for 30 years , that'll sell a few shirts.

Sod it let's go the whole hog and get the toy town Nike badge back as it went down a treat last time.

Exposure is only gained by relative success challenging for trophies and playing in Europe.
That won't be fixed overnight .
So until then
"If you know your history"

Back to the song
Loved it 1st time around until it got associated with Heroine use , then hated it
Now
Can't get it out of my head, superb song.

What’s this got to do with There She Goes mate? We’ve played it literally once. It’s not some ancient tradition.

I thought the performance of In My Life was a much more poignant moment of the day. I've tried to find a recording of it that's not spoilt by the daft fireworks

Lightweight supporters purchase products which generates income. If you want to limit yourself to local heavyweight fans that's fine but we won't progress.
You're ignoring completely my question of 'how?' because you don't have an answer.

I'm done, and this conversation isn't about the song anyway.

Have a good weekend.

Nothing really and it ended up going off topic. I originally said, "There she goes works for me but really I'm just craving for change. A new stadium, new owners - it's a new beginning and one we've been desperate for for years, if not decades. For me, and I know it's controversial, I want to leave the past behind and focus on moving forward....".

So if Z Cars is stopping us from leveraging the overseas fan, what song do you think will help us attract them?

Or maybe it’s a case of recognising our heritage isn’t the reason we have been poor for 35 years. That’s down to the limitations of our owners over that time

I'm going 'pardon' again. What song is linked to heroin and how? 'Golden brown, texture like sun...' I'm aware of. (though obvs not linked to Everton)
Ther she goes was 'rumoured' to be about heroin, although that has been denied.

In 1988, the British rock band The La’s released “There She Goes.” Written by the band’s singer Lee Mavers, the song’s meaning was believed to be an ode to drugs, heroin in particular—There she blows again / Pulsing through my veins / And I just can’t contain / This feeling that remains
