New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

plus they could have people working shifts too. It’s going to cost to have 24/7 work on the site but it’s not impossible - could be cheaper than any costs related to delays too.

This is the thing, its not Everton who are on the hook for delays, its the contractor, unless its Everton who have caused the delays of course. It is within nobody's interest to have this delayed more than it needs to be, so they will all do everything they can for it not to be.

There are no pictures that I have seen that would have me overly concerned at this stage.

This does not mean that I have any information, and the lads who are saying it is delayed may well be right, I don't know. But none of those pictures are evidence of it, they're just pictures of a building site that hasn't been completed. Im not exaggerating when I say I have been on large sites where on a Monday walk round it seems impossible for it to be finished at the end of the week, but the final coat of paint is drying as the Clerk of works does his Friday walk round before handover.

There will be a snagging period after that, so people on site after handover is not only common, but often expected, so that wont be a evidence of any delay either.

Too much to say here and it's speculation since I've not seen the inside of the building and despite repeated requests by the good people of GOT, LOR and the other builders have not submitted their construction schedules for public comment. But here are a few important ideas to keep in mind:

Delays are always longer than predicted, especially when they already exist

Problems create consequences in sequence; just like a bottleneck on roads cause problems further down the road, a problem with your construction timeline (subcontractor availability, shipping delay, etc) always creates more problems later

Lounges are probably the least important item* to deliver; maybe that's why they aren't finished yet, because important items have been focused on, but these will certainly be the last items delivered. *Maybe offices are least important, but they're both at the bottom of the list of what has to be working to host a football match.

The first match is less than 3 months away; that's an extremely quick timeline even for refurbishing an existing restaurant, but these aren't existing. Everything has to be installed new, inspected and certificated for safety, etc (or whatever local regulations require), and this has to be repeated for multiple venues (6 lounges total?). That's a lot of work in a short time period. Unless what's being reported is entirely incorrect (which is possible), delivering 6 venues from nothing to complete and functional in less than 3 months would be a spectacular result.
And why would they feel the need to issue their schedules for public comment? It's a construction project, they're not publishing their accounts.

And LOR handed over their part of the build almost 6 months ago so not sure what you think they have to do with it?

Just think of how many pieces of paper it has to punch through when it reverts back to its alternative design purpose. Of course it's going to create cracks.
The Buckingham group that were involved were in financial distress during whole thing, which meant they started cutting a lot of corners hence why it's crumbling after only a couple of years.

You wouldn't believe the issues they had on the ARE as well. Some absolutely shocking work done on it. The reason they were so late finishing was because of the amount of remedial works they had to do to strengthen he steelwork frame due to it being so poorly designed amd executed. They went cheapest and quickest from day 1. That never delivers quality.

Are the same people who are saying the hospitality won't be finished the same people who said the pitch wouldn't fit?

Yes it was me confirming the pitch didn't fit inside the hospitality area, so they've had to knock a couple of walls down but it's still only the size of a 5 a side pitch. Touch and go whether they'll get it done is what I've heard from green fingers frank
