The fallen

Other side of the coin

Fulham
Bournemouth
Brighton
Brentford

All over performing/ getting it right.
Teams like these seem to get things right for a few seasons but the real test is when they have 4 or 5 seasons in mid table and try to progress further. Its a balancing act between pushing forward as much as you can without putting the future of the club in doubt.

They'll get cherry picked too.

Bournemouth already lost Huijsen. Most likely will lose Semenyo too. Sure there will be more in there.

Sure sides will look at the likes of João Pedro, Estupiñan, Mitoma. Mbuemo, Schade, Wissa etc..

The big clubs will just pick them apart sadly. But test will be how they reinvest or. Brighton have shown they can, can they continue to? Yet to be seen with Brentford, Bournemouth really.

It was going to be Everton until Mosh finally stumbled into a competent buyer

It would be hilarious if United were in a proper relegation scrap but I’d put my money on Fulham, when they fall apart they fall apart in a hurry

Their bubble will burst at some stage.

They've spend £180m this season, net. The media have a real soft spot for them so as opposed to asking "what's gone wrong?", when spurs and United are faltering, and they're currently relying on Villa and Forest doing them favours to make Europe on the final day, they're saying "it always takes 2 years to come good".

Yeah, but what’s their net spend over say five years? (I genuinely don’t know the answer there!). Spending over one season doesn’t matter too much if they’ve raked it in previously.

For me they’re still a club I’d like to see us emulate, even if it has gone wrong this season!

Of the current 20 teams in the Premier League, only one side is profitable over the last 5 years, solely based on transfer fees (you'll never guess who!?)

Their model is excellent and it's a model we should be following and is a model other teams are following well. But Brightons luck must run out at some point.

Their outlay, is only more than Everton & Wolves of the consistent teams. It is lower than Ipswich, for example. So they're doing great.

Liverpool, who aren't apparently "skint", have a net spend which is 325% higher than Brightons.

The powers that be will ensure United and the other scabs will always be ok. Gotta keep those subscribers happy.
This.
As bad as they are, the massive Man U fan base around the world means they are PL darlings, probably more so than the cult. They will never ever get relegated while the PL set up is, how it is.
This in itself is corruption because it's just not a level playing field.

PL corrupt AF

Its a bit mad how Man Utd have gone from being the most professionally run club in the early nillies, having the biggest turnover in the world, to a full on financial mess.
I've said it before, but i see so much of them in us. I wonder if we can ever fully avoid that situation. We sat in relative success with Moyes before he left, and so did UTD, (Relative being the word here) and they rotted away behind the scenes as we did.

Only just seen this thread and was just going to post pretty much this.
If they looked like possibly going down, we would see some really REALLY odd officiating, way beyond what if common practice now.
Even if not in their games due to the their heightened profile, but the clubs around them would suffer.
