Player Valuation: £70m
I’m not sure this one is sentimental. I think it’s a question of value for money. Seems like he offers that. Can we do better?
We have to stop being so sentimental.

I think he still has some upside. He’s not amazing, but he’s a good player available at a good price who has moments of quality. Those moments we desperately lack outside of Illy and sometimes Dwight when he has time to line one up. If Charly is one of many signings with depth in mind then we’ve done ourselves a favor. No I am absolutely up for signing him, I’m just not seeing this mercurial ‘quality’ player that some seem to have.
He looks like a decent enough player for a lower mid table premier league side.
That United reject at Fulham for example is miles better as well.
I think that us not being sentimental is the very reason to buy him. His ability for 12.5m, when we need players in the squad, seems an easy decision. Can we do better?

Have to go with Moyes’ judgement here. What does he see on a weekly basis on the training ground. I like what I’ve seen so far but if he thinks he can get better and has the funds to do so then fair enough.
He’s played in England for Southampton previously.
There’s definitely something there I just can’t see how people are so sure he’s the second coming.
Looks ‘alright’. I’m hoping for better than that this summer to go into our starting 11. If he’s a rotation option then happy days, can see his upside absolutely.
Yeah but he did do a dead good back heel onceI think that us not being sentimental is the very reason to buy him. His ability for 12.5m, when we need players in the squad, seems an easy decision.
Sentimental is wanting to retain Lindstrom.

Andreas Pereira. Again, wouldn’t want to sign him either.
There’s a whole host of better attacking midfielders in the league than Alcaraz. If he’s signing as the starter, not keen at all. If he’s coming in to boost the squad and as an investment at 12m then I'm all for it.
I just personally think if we want to move away from mid to lower table obscurity we need players with considerably more talent/productivity.

Andreas Perreira who has 1 more goal & 1 more assist in 3 times as many minutes for a far more attacking team?
That Andreas Perreira at Fulham?
I dont think so.
"Alright" ?
He's been our best attacking player when starting games.
