2024/25 Charly Alcaraz

No I am absolutely up for signing him, I’m just not seeing this mercurial ‘quality’ player that some seem to have.

He looks like a decent enough player for a lower mid table premier league side.

That United reject at Fulham for example is miles better as well.
I think he still has some upside. He’s not amazing, but he’s a good player available at a good price who has moments of quality. Those moments we desperately lack outside of Illy and sometimes Dwight when he has time to line one up. If Charly is one of many signings with depth in mind then we’ve done ourselves a favor.

Oh, and if you gathered up all the United rejects now playing elsewhere they’d smash their current team.

We have to play the cards we are dealt for the time being. For those saying we should be more ambitious - I fully agree, but unless our finances have drastically changed in terms of financial fairplay and we have a blank cheque book, then surely we have to be realisticabout our budget and the type of player we can attract and the amount of players we need to sign to replace the players leaving . At 12m , and on reasonable wages, he is a no-brainer, he has shown glimses of quality and is young enough to improve. We have spent far more money on far worse players, to me he offers very little risk. Whether he becomes the real deal we would like him to be ! Who knows? But don't see us losing money on him

Have to go with Moyes’ judgement here. What does he see on a weekly basis on the training ground. I like what I’ve seen so far but if he thinks he can get better and has the funds to do so then fair enough.

He’s played in England for Southampton previously.

There’s definitely something there I just can’t see how people are so sure he’s the second coming.

Looks ‘alright’. I’m hoping for better than that this summer to go into our starting 11. If he’s a rotation option then happy days, can see his upside absolutely.

It’s not that he’s the second coming … it’s that we have to make a lot of signings this summer and don’t have an endless pot of money so finding value is hugely important

Opportunities to buy young players with potential for 12m don’t come around to often and that’s why most people believe it’s low risk and he’s worth signing

Andreas Pereira. Again, wouldn’t want to sign him either.

There’s a whole host of better attacking midfielders in the league than Alcaraz. If he’s signing as the starter, not keen at all. If he’s coming in to boost the squad and as an investment at 12m then I'm all for it.

I just personally think if we want to move away from mid to lower table obscurity we need players with considerably more talent/productivity.

Andreas Perreira who has 1 more goal & 1 more assist in 3 times as many minutes for a far more attacking team?

That Andreas Perreira at Fulham?

I dont think so.

"Alright" ?

He's been our best attacking player when starting games.
