Not the point I was making at all.

Just comparing him to a player that none of us would realistically want but who is much more influential in games.

Yes Christie is older but for me he’s far better than Alcaraz currently.

I think Alcaraz has some ability and can see him being a good signing at 12m but there’s no way I’d be demanding him (especially as a starter). We should be aiming higher - he’s better than what we’ve had, is that the summit of our ambition still?

We don’t have hundreds of millions to spend so we need to find value

Alcaraz has enough about him, is young and will not demand silly wages, if he doesn't work out as well as we expect, then we sell for more than we paid easily.

That is why this deal is a win win.

No I am absolutely up for signing him, I’m just not seeing this mercurial ‘quality’ player that some seem to have.

He looks like a decent enough player for a lower mid table premier league side.

That United reject at Fulham for example is miles better as well.

Andreas Pereira. Again, wouldn’t want to sign him either.

There’s a whole host of better attacking midfielders in the league than Alcaraz. If he’s signing as the starter, not keen at all. If he’s coming in to boost the squad and as an investment at 12m then I'm all for it.

I just personally think if we want to move away from mid to lower table obscurity we need players with considerably more talent/productivity.

Dont think has really had a good run in the team esp in the 10 position to say. Has played 14 and had 1 goal 3 assists for us, of course we need another player to really fight for that postion. I actually think will improve alot if here next season

Should always aim to looking for better players, just imo i think should be given a chance a sign him. Also does not mean because we sign him he should be starting next season. I want another player in that postion same with most of the squad to show and earn the right to play

This is my point, I think we probably can do better. Should we have those questions about a ‘no brainer’ signing?

Like I said I’d be fine with him adding to the squad as a ‘relatively’ cheap addition. He shouldn’t be the starter in the 10 or as an 8 though. Not if we want to improve on around 13th.

Stinks of Fulham/Bournemouth/Brentford for me. Hope if he signs he proves me wrong as I love the passion he has.

Foreign country , first season in the prem, played all over the pitch, not given a consistent run and only 22…

He’s shown bits and pieces and some promise , generally speaking you’d expect someone to improve as they settle and get game time and from a financially bad decision point of view he’s very low risk and high reward

He’s played in England for Southampton previously.

There’s definitely something there I just can’t see how people are so sure he’s the second coming.

Looks ‘alright’. I’m hoping for better than that this summer to go into our starting 11. If he’s a rotation option then happy days, can see his upside absolutely.
