Goodison Alehouses: Crofts closed on Sunday. Any others going/gone?

Dale street and the surrounding streets are Certainly the place to have a pub now , even the saddle has leaned into the colours with its new paint job .

Pig and whistle reopened as well .
I'd consider taking over The Pig but after a bit of consideration realised it probably wouldn't be good for my home life ha

Little Gold mine that place.

The Crofts was one of my pre match drinks...Absolute hole with crap ale but I liked it in there.

Was in there before the City game and they literally had about 2 lights on,all felt very ominous.

The Barlows is another Pre match bevy for me,I do wonder if that might stand a fighting chance,5 mins in a cab to BM.

I'd like to think some blues will frequent match day.
Crofts has been a dive for 10 years if not longer, best just flattening the place unfortunately, used to be a great venue decades ago.

The Dark House should be ok, the other lot frequent there when their at home, will still get a decent enough number of blues aswell as their regulars.

Think a few will be ok, obviously the match day income is a.massive loss but as pointed out a few pubs have a good nucleus of regulars. Datk House, Lu lu's etc plus a few RS go in there on match days.

Denbigh Castle is a big blue pub and there's an Everton bar in N John St. called the Lock Up . Vernon is ok but i think the new people are RS.
It is and it’s a cracker , absolutely rammed inside and out and you could still get served.

There will be plenty using it as a starting point come next season . The excelsior is a very good blue pub as well .

Didn’t know that about the vernon. Rose and crown has plenty of blues in pre game I’m guessing that’ll continue .

The dale st area is going to be the place to be I think .

Does anyone remember the bridge (fly house) on Chisenhale Street? Just thinking that would have been a great old pub to break up the walk to BM from town.

I think it is still standing but been closed for ages.
Yeah , I’d actually forgotten all about it until your post . Memories

I think shenanigans and the vaults next door will potentially do ok as well .

There's simply no way The Winslow will survive long term. In all honesty these bars should just become regular bars now and not associate themselves as a match day pub if they want to survive particularly the spellow, brick and Winslow

Went to many family functions in crofts over the years, real shame to see it go.
