My dad and his mate had this banner out at Wembley in 1984 and I’ve been searching everywhere for any photo/footage of it.

Does anybody remember this? We remade the banner for the last Goodison game and we had people stop us saying they remembered seeing that banner on the telly.

I’ve gone through all the YouTube videos and Google images etc and can’t find a thing.

Would be very much appreciated if anyone would know if it’s anywhere!

I remember seeing it there as well, Elton John actually walked around the outside track behind our goal and was waving and laughing with the Everton fans.
I wondered what he thought of the banner at the time 😀
 

I definitely remember seeing the flag , I’m sure I saw it afterwards on the footage of the game as well . In fact I’m certain of it

That was a great banner but for me the winner on the day was:

I'm sure he was called a lot worse over the years.
I was at the game,so can't remember much ,but the stuff caught on camera ,he looked like he was loving it.
Iirc he was in tears at the singing of abide with me ,his then wife * trying to comfort him.

*younger readers..he was married, to a pretty woman iirc.
Genuinely can't recall him getting divorced tho.

Anyone remember 'Robinsons Barley but Baileys Cream' from the Milk Cup Final 1984?
Credit the 1878's for their work by the way, they've really helped the fanbase come to life these last few years. 💙
