2024/25 Abdoulaye Doucoure

It’s a difficult one.

It depends on what the transfer strategy is and our ability to execute on it.

I think not playing him cost Lampard his job and the stats say that over his time here since 2020 (no small sample ) we are vastly a better team with him than without.
We may have been vastly better with him, only due to fact we have been skint and had an absolute Frankensteins monster of a squad for far too many years. I can guarantee we will be a vastly better team without him now we are finally in a position to replace. Hes offered decent service, we wish him well but we have to escape the continued acceptance of mediocrity and really kick on with better players than him now.

Looks like the best thing for both parties. He still has something to offer a club in a less intense league environment, we need improvement on what we have, it would have been nice to get a fee for him but that is the Everton way. Good luck to him in the future, I always thought he tried hard for us and gave of his best.
Think he could still do it in the Prem, but just for a side in the bottom five. His skills are limited but effective for a team trying not to lose.

I think the players have had to do their best in really difficult circumstances over the past 5 years. He’s always given us everything and been committed to the cause whilst producing some club history defining moments that will be looked back on fondly.

Probably a player that will be appreciated more in a few years and hopefully he gets a really good send off because he deserves it.

Finding a way to win consistently without Doucs is a risk but vital for the teams progression. Was never going to happen whilst he was here so he would be holding us back if we build properly.

Thanks for the important goals and good luck.

Best signing of the Ancelotti reign?
