2024/25 Abdoulaye Doucoure

Well all good things must come to an end. He’s scored some good and very important goals but it’s time to close this chapter.

….loved his reaction on leaving the pitch on Sunday, genuine sentiment Everton clearly means a lot.

I’ll remember him fondly, wish him well and look forward to us building a team that can win football matches without him.

Thankfully Moyesey did that 1 month into his tenure.

Wish him nothing but the best, produced some huge moments for us and put in a shift.

Also absolutely the right decision to let go, literally can't control or pass a football.

Will always be grateful for the Bournemouth goal, and for some of his performances under Dyche particularly early on. Think it’s one of those scenarios however where it has run its course naturally and it’s best for both parties to move on. Good signing overall, leaving at the right time. His wage can now be better used elsewhere. All the best Doucs.

Can't really criticise him, apart from acknowledging that he was difficult to watch whenever he played in the number 10 role. That Bournemouth goal will always be in our history, but it's the right moment to move on.

I expect Moyes will look to sign Alcaraz permanently, along with another who brings similar qualities to Doucouré. Souček isn’t a bad option on paper, but certainly not worth the £25 million or more they’re likely to ask.
